Humbucker.  Single Coil.  Same Volume.

It's a straightforward idea with a less than straightforward solution.

You've got this great humbucker, and when you split to single coil, the volume drops drastically.  That's rather disappointing.

The Stevedore solves this by adding a coil.  So you've got two coils in humbucker mode, and two coils in single coil mode.  Each coil is voiced to make the pickup a humbucker with no excuses, and a single coil with no excuses.  Then, there's beast mode, which uses all three.

The pickup works with a three position switch, with humbucker to one side, single coil to the other, and beast in between.  The switch can be a toggle, a mini-toggle, or a three position slide switch.

I designed the pickup with high gain in mind, so it's had a nice, long, even pensive, wax bath to keep the squeelies at bay.
