The CLAM SHACK Model #2405 (SOLD)
with custom wiring
Custom wiring?!? What does that mean?
If you want the controls of your Clam Shack to be just want you want and nothing more, custom wiring is your thing!
This customer wanted independent voice rotaries for each Off Kiltertron and no middle pickup. The three knobs are volume, neck voice rotary, and bridge voice rotary. The pickup selector is a three position switch. The customer wanted to be able to adjust the tone without having an extra knob, so I set him up with a three position tone switch. Position 1 is full tone bypass, position 2 is a partial tone roll off, and position 3 is a more dramatic tone roll off. This is similar to the Gretsch tone switch, but with tone roll off capacitors selected to match the player's three tone preference.
Aren't you glad you asked?

So how does this work?
The magic is in the OKT rotary, which allows you to quickly switch between the three single coil and three humbucking voices. The tone control has a push/pull switch to engage the neck pickup, allowing you to have the neck and bridge pickups on together. Volume control has a treble bleed so the high end frequencies aren't lost as you lower the volume. Pretty cool, eh?
